A state-owned investment fund that manages a country's surplus wealth.
Sovereign funds invest very large sums across public and private markets and often take direct stakes, co-investments and anchor positions in managers. Their processes are formal and their timelines long.
Why it matters when you raise
A sovereign anchor can define a raise, but it usually asks for scale, governance and co-investment rights in return.
